Position Description:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Building substitutes are assigned to an elementary school on a daily basis to provide continuity of student instruction, maintain the safety of students in a respectful environment, and work collaboratively with district staff
- The building substitute will primarily cover classrooms when a regular substitute teacher is not available
- Teach all classes and complete extra duties as assigned
- Deliver the lesson plan provided by the teacher
- Assure that students adhere to the school and classroom expectations for behavior
- Model learning and behavior consistent with the expectations for students
- Report to the classroom teacher about student behavior and progress

Position Description:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to...
- administer medication;
- manage students with chronic diseases;
- upkeep daily online charting and maintain student health records;
- obtain all health related forms for individual student's needs;
- gather immunization records and follow through with compliance standards;
- submit annual immunization and communicable diseases reports to MDH, by the required deadline;
- screen for vision and hearing;
- implement health related services on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), as requested by special education or other school administrators;
- follow written emergency plans and Individual Health Plans (IHPs
- consult with other school staff as necessary to promote total health and wellness of students and staff;
- participate in the Crisis Response Team (CRT), as requested;
- provide staff training as needed
- participate in 3rd party billing, as directed;
- uphold confidentiality at all times regarding students and staff; and
- work under the direction of the Lead Nurse.

- serve as a team member in the screening, and evaluation of students to determine Special Education eligibility;
- collaborate effectively as a member of the District's school psychology team;
- conduct parent-staff conferences to interpret findings and give recommendations from evaluations;
