To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and
personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills,

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaching reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical

of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group
instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for
instruction.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning
atmosphere in the classroom.
• Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares
progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress
and interpret the school program.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and
helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin
boards, and interest centers.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by
professional growth activities.
• Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which
the teacher will be evaluated in conformance with guidelines.
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.
• Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with state testing program.
• Participates in curriculum development programs as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree of related subject from accredited university
• Minnesota teaching License.

Position Description:
Position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student skills of
listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are fundamental to effective communication and literate
citizenship; that develops appreciation of good literature of all types; that motivates students to read
widely for information and recreation; that develops standards for critical judgment of written and oral
communications transmitted by mass media; and that discovers and develops special talents of students
in the field of English to prepare each student to meet the Minnesota standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, journalism to
middle school students, utilizing curriculum designated by Harvest Network of Schools.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and
administrative regulations and procedures of Harvest Network of Schools.
• Adapts English material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson
plans that guide and challenge students.
• Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division’s basic
instructional philosophy and congruent with course; provides individualized and small group
instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of
students.
• Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate
records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping
activities as necessary.
• Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
• Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards for English skills (listening,
speaking, reading and writing).
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly,
productive classroom environment.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and
helping students solve learning, health and attitude problems.
• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.

Position Reports to: School Principal
Position Description:
The Instructional Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning.
The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand
and refine the understanding about researched-base effective instruction. In order to meet this
purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and
identified needs of individual teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate willingness to assume leadership positions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies that engage all students.
• Provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge using a variety of assessment tools.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
• Provide support in analyzing student assessment data.
• Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data.
• Assist teachers with specific classroom activities when requested.
• Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies.
