Elementary Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Eagle Ridge Academy, one of the largest charter schools in Minnesota and one of the few K-12 classical education programs in the state, seeks applicants for various elementary teaching positions (K-5) for the 2022-2023 school year.

Description:
 
Eagle Ridge Academy seeks a well-spoken individual with a gift for teaching who is passionate about the mission, philosophy, and pedagogy of Eagle Ridge Academy.  Qualified applicants will have the ability to develop positive rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.  They will have knowledge of particular learning styles along with the skill to meet the academic, social, and emotional growth needs of elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Teaches using the course of study adopted by the Eagle Ridge Academy board and other appropriate learning activities
Instructs students in citizenship
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports
Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program
Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems
Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the school day, as needed
Maintains professional competence through professional development activities
Participates in curriculum development programs as required
Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Desire to teach using the classical education model.
Applicable license.

Responsibilities:

Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction

Collaborates with classroom teachers to adapt materials and curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs while preserving confidentiality.

Maintains accurate and complete student records including due process requirements for IEP’s, ongoing data collection tools and grades when appropriate

Provides feedback and guidance to paraprofessionals as needed

Mangages student behavior, which includes developing and implementing classroom rules and expectations, as well as providing appropriate interventions to address behaviors when necessary.

Communicates with families on a consistent basis on progress towards goals and IEP related concerns.

Participates in a variety of meetings, which may include: parent or guardian conferences, special education briefings, staff and/or committee meetings, staff development sessions, and/or other related meetings.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and applicable MN teaching license.

Desire to teach using the classical education model.

We are now hiring for a EL Teacher.  

Responsibilities:
Provide EL push in and/or pull out instruction to students.
Train, coordinate and administer EL assessments.
Maintain database of EL and EL-eligible students.
Assist in developing language acquisition support plans (EL plans) for all EL students and work with classroom teachers to implement plans.
Coordinate interpreter/translation services
Work with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction.
Assist in developing appropriate curriculum to help EL students acquire the English language.
Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
Attend IEP, Section 504, or other related meetings necessary for student assessment and/or compliance with federal and/or state law.     
Oversee ELD progress monitoring
Provide training and coaching for EL and general education teachers in effective EL instruction

This position requires an EL teaching license.
