Position Description:
Walker Hackensack Akeley Elementary is seeking a full-time music teacher to teach general music to students in grades Pk-5.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in K-12 Classroom Vocal Music; successful prior teaching experience in elementary music preferred.
Essential Functions
Passion for working with elementary-aged students and the ability to create an environment and culture that enhances student learning and achievement.
Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives and Minnesota State Music Education standards.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.
Collaborates with staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Description:
Walker Hackensack Akeley Elementary is seeking applications for an ELL teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Position is for 2.5 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid ELL teaching license in the State of Minnesota.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provide instruction of core curriculum for students whose English language skills range from beginner to advanced, with appropriate use of instructional resources to students whose primary language is other than English, in order to meet Minnesota English Language Proficiency Standards
Plan curriculum in collaboration with general education teachers to appropriately enhance and support content learning
Advocate for the needs of the ELL students.
Maintain accurate ELL cumulative files and communicate changes to Student Services.
Communicate language needs and progress of the ELLs with classroom teachers, administrators and families.
Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of one hour or more

The Industrial Technology Teacher will create a classroom environment that fosters learning skills across a variety of Industrial Technology subjects, including 7th & 8th grade technology, Woods I & II, metal fabrication, and small engine classes; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide an excellent education, in accordance with each student’s ability; establish effective rapport with pupils, parents; and to work collaboratively with other staff members.
Preferred Qualification & Experience:
BA/BS degree or higher in education or related field required. Must possess valid MN teaching license.
