The Ascent Program serves students at our River Valley Education Center in grades 6-8. 
           
Description:
Special Education Teacher, 8 hours a day for 185 Contract Days. 
 
Educate, plan, teach, facilitate, and evaluate students identified as having a disability.  Many of the students exhibit social, emotional, cognitive and/or behavioral needs that require support.
 
Pay & Benefits: 
Starting pay at $43,610 annually based on education and experience. Competitive and comprehensive benefit package available.
 
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:
EBD, DCD, ASD, or ABS license preferred (Open to Tier 2 License Eligible Candidates or Out-of-Field Permissions).
Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
Strong classroom management skills.
Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.

Description:
School Psychologist, 8 hours a day for 185 Contract Days. 
 
Job Summary:
The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations.   The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional, and educational success.   In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.   


Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings. 
Provide individual, group, and family therapy per IEP requirements. 
Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings. 
Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. 
Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. 
Aid staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. 
Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for improvement of services. 
Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem solving in the classroom. 
Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed. 
Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. 
Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community. 
Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings. 
Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data. 
Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate. 
 
Qualifications:
Minnesota licensure as a School Psychologist or ability to obtain.

Job Summary:
Providing speech and language therapy for students with special education services including speech, language, voice, fluency and communication impairments. The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide a complete array of services to students with identified communication problems, including students whose primary disability is “speech-language impairment” and students with primary disabilities who have needs in the area of communication (for example, students with autism, cognitive disabilities, or developmental delays).

Qualifications:

Current MN Licensure in Pre K-12 Speech Language Pathologist,
Masters Degree in Communication Disorders required
 ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (C's) or the ability to obtain.
Experience working with school aged children.

Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments, services, resources and referrals. Services are designed to improve social skills, assist with problem solving, provide behavior management skills, and understand how mental health issues impact students’ education. All the students have IEP’s.
