MCA is hiring an upper school choir director/music specialist for the 2023-2024 school year. Classes would include directing middle school and high school choirs, and Chapel Band. Experience with Orchestra may be explored but not required.
Essential Duties
Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements/standards of state and school and submits weekly to principal
Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class
Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
Teaches rules of conduct
Maintains order in classroom and in auxiliary spaces on campus as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
Discusses students' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents
Keeps attendance and grade records as required by school
Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions
Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S..) from four-year college or university in music education.
Desired License: Minnesota state teaching license in vocal and classroom music.
