Position Description:

Seeking candidates with experience and/or knowledge of integrated therapy services, augmentative communication, and trans-disciplinary team approaches. This position is responsible for identification of needs and delivery of integrated therapy services to students who require speech therapy intervention in accordance with all school district, state and federal requirements (as applicable). The Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) collaborates with staff to promote the highest practicable physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being for the students using trans-disciplinary team approaches.
  
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree or higher degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech-language and hearing science; OR possess certification of clinical competence from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association.Valid Alaska Type C  special services certificate with a speech endorsement, or able to secure Alaska Type C certificate upon hire.Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a school environment.Exhibits sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required as part of the facility team.

Preferred Requirements:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) desired.
School-based experience desired.
Experience working with children having a broad spectrum of disabilities.
Experience in providing support to regular education teachers in accommodating special needs of students in an inclusive environment is desired.

Position Description:

Provides comprehensive services to students, which includes applying a wide range of assessment methods, evaluation procedures and intervention strategies.  Completes diagnostic assessments and interprets results of assessments to parents and staff for the purpose of determining eligibility for services.  Collaborates with a team in developing educational interventions and other programs to meet student needs.  Collaborates with outside agencies to enhance services for students.  Provides written reports and documents; promotes family and community involvement.

Position Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Administrative Services, the incumbent plans, organizes and supervises the district-wide Food Service Program to ensure nutritious, cost-effective, safe and attractive meals to students and Staff. Interprets and applies provisions of the local, state, and federal laws, rules and District policies relating to various requirements of child nutrition matters.  This position directly, and alongside school principals, supervises Juneau School District classified food service staff and works with the Food Service Management Company’s general manager to coordinate all school meal program needs for students. 

KNOWLEDGE OF:
USDA rules and regulations governing the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program, U.S.D.A. Commodity Program, and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation rules and regulations
Principles of Food Service Management and Child Nutrition
Sanitation and Safety measures pertinent to the food service industry 
Business Administration


ABILITIES:
Proficient in the areas of accounting, budget development, and personnel management
Background in institutional food service management and food service facility design
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be comfortable in testifying and/or presenting in front of groups
Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing
Experience in conducting training workshops

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an accredited college or university with major coursework in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business administration or related field. A minimum of four (4) years of comprehensive experience in the Food Service industry including three (3) years of supervisory responsibility. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Administers the operation of the District’s Food Service Program in conformance with Federal, State, and local regulations along with District policies 
Establishes a  program for food service personnel management, including the development and review of job descriptions, class specifications, and establishment of FTE for all food service positions
Direct preparation of food for the District Food Service Program 
Design, plans and assures implementation of correct procedures of preparations, storage and service of food including all other District programs that serve food to students, staff, or the public, in compliance with government health and safety codes 
Adapts program to changing needs as recognized through community input, communication with parents, teachers and administrators
Oversees the District’s food service management company’s contract(s), monitors their performance, and authorizes payment
Conducts periodic on-site visits and USDA monitoring reviews of  District schools to observe the serving of food, food safety, and other compliance issues
Conducts periodic visits and inspections of all on-site and off-site food service program storage facilities to observe food safety and other compliance issues
Coordinates all administrative review efforts
Schedules and conducts school lunch advisory meetings
Assists with the Request for Proposal (RFP) and contract renewal processes
Oversees school meal benefit application processing including all related requirements
Monitors student and staff school meal account activity including reconciliation and collections
Other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION:This position is a 12-month, permanent position.  Salary: Range L on the Classified Exempt Salary Schedule $61,934 -  $107,177 DOE.  The district offers an excellent benefit package including; PERS, health, dental, vision and life insurance as well as additional, optional wellness and retirement options. This position is classified exempt and not a part of any bargaining unit.  

Selected hire will be fingerprinted at the applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
