District/Organization hiring and interviewing instructions and processes for candidates:
Step 1: Applicant
Complete the online application, including providing a minimum of two potential professional references, one of which must be a current or former supervisor or principal. Hiring managers will not see your application until at least two reference surveys have been completed, so providing more than two may make your process faster.
Step 2: Human Resources
After at least two reference surveys have been completed, the HR partner reviews applications to screen for those who meet the minimum qualifications. Those qualified are sent to the hiring manager (the internal leader or administor who has a position open on their team) for their review.
Step 3: Hiring Manager
The hiring manager reviews the application information, including resume, job history, reference surveys and any other materials submitted by the candidate.
Step 4: Hiring Manager
The hiring manager or their office sets up interviews with candidates of their choice. WPS recommends that all hiring managers interview a minimum of two candidates, and that interviews are conducted by a hiring committee.
Step 5: Hiring Manager
Once interviews are concluded, the hiring manager notifies their HR partner to whom they would like to offer the position.
Step 6: Human Resources
The HR partner calls the final candidate to extend an offer and reviews information including next steps, salary and available benefits.
Step 7: Applicant
Applicant accepts the offer, contingent on completing the pre-employment process. That process includes completing a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test.
