District/Organization Description:
Torah Academy serves the Jewish community in which most of the children are
Orthodox or Orthodox leaning. Most students who attend Torah Academy live within walking distance of the school. Some students travel from St. Paul or live outside of St. Louis Park. Most community members attend one of the three synagogues located in the neighborhood. Torah Academy typically has a 40% or greater free and reduced lunch rate. Families range from professionals, entrepreneurs of all sorts to men who study the Torah at the Kollel in pursuit of their doctorate level rabbinical degree. Over the past 7 years, Torah Academy has housed between 280-300 students (Pre-K included). This year, we have had a bit of a surge and are currently at 307 students.
District/Organization hiring and interviewing instructions and processes for candidates:
You do not need to be Jewish to apply or work at Torah Academy. Candidates should have a resume and be willing to talk for 15-30 minutes. We do have a dress code for teachers that will be available to look at.
