District/Organization Description:

St. Mary's School District is located in rural bush Alaska and serves a student population of 99% Yup'ik Eskimo students. The district has an enrollment of 210 students in grades K-12. The school attendance consists of the City of St. Mary's and the village of Pitka's Point. The parents and community members are very involved in the education of students and have pride in their school. Education is emphasized in the communities and they work together to provide the best possible educational experience for the students attending the district.

Each candidate will interview with the superintendent, principal and several board members. A background check will be conducted, references called, and a decision will be made.
