Our mission at Omaha Public Schools is to prepare all students for success in college, career and life. Our educational offerings are just as diverse as the students we serve. We are an urban district, centered in the heart of the Midwest with rich diversity serving more than 53,000 students each year. We have over 160 years of tradition in making a difference for the families we serve.
Our district consists of 63 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, seven high schools, one K-12 virtual school and 11 alternative programs. Five new schools (two elementary, one middle and two high schools) are scheduled to open by August 2023. Learn more about our district in our quick facts.

District/Organization hiring and interviewing instructions and processes for candidates:

Candidates will start by submitting an online application through our District's website. See link below. Once that is submitted, an HR Hiring Administrator will review your materials, resume, and references and then contact you for an interview. That Administrator will then further discuss openings at specific schools that align with your endorsement area and work with you to schedule interviews at specific schools. If recommended, the HR Administrator will reach out and make the offer.
