District/Organization Description:

Aurora Charter School serves 420 students in grades K-8 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We seek to develop graduates who are bilingual and biliterate leaders, critical thinkers and environmental stewards.

Our Mission:
To operate a center of learning that embraces academic excellence and celebrates the gift of Latino culture.

Our Vision:
Aurora Charter School will be a high-achieving learning environment where the student is nurtured academically, socially, and physically. Students will be held to learning standards mandated by the State of Minnesota through a dual-language curriculum in English and Spanish, and with the instruction of highly-qualified teachers and other support staff, will strive to close the achievement gap within the school.

District/Organization hiring and interviewing instructions and processes for candidates:

At Aurora Charter School, we believe our greatest resource is the people who form our team. Available positions are posted on Frontline, K-12 Job Spot, St.Cloud EdPost, and school website.

Human Resources reviews the application and offers interviews. A small group of staff members, composed of the Principal, and relevant teachers/staff conduct the interview. Interview questions will be provided prior to the interview in addition to a tour of the school.

Responses are scored on a scale of 1-4 to keep results and hiring process decisions objective. If unable to make a decision between two applicants who are tied, an additional interview may be requested.

The administration team makes the final decision on hiring, a phone call will be received and an official offer will be provided by the Human Resource Generalist by email. All employment agreements are finalized by the school board.
